HYDERABAD, 25 August 2011 - Richard Chandler Corporation, the Singapore-based parent organisation of Rumi Education, today reaffirmed its commitment and optimistic outlook for the rapidly growing, Hyderabad-based provider of education systems to affordable private schools.

"We are receiving positive feedback from our customers that Rumi's products and services are making a meaningful impact," explained Darius Shey, Vice President at Richard Chandler Corporation. "We are now adding schools in the greater Delhi and Mumbai areas, and expect to grow rapidly."

The company also announced that CEO Raj Grover would be stepping down to focus on family and personal matters. "Raj had an indelible impact on Rumi's development and will be greatly missed," said Shey. "We are extremely grateful for his contribution."

Shey, who has some 18 years of experience in multi-unit businesses across dozens of countries including India, will helm the organisation during the search for Grover's permanent successor. He will be in Hyderabad on a regular basis to provide leadership to the business during its transition.

Rumi Wins World Education Summit Award 2011 in Private Sector Initiatives Category

HYDERABAD, 14 June 2011 - Rumi Education announced today it had won the prestigious World Education Summit Award 2011 in the Private Sector Initiatives Category for its 'Rumi Digital Skills Programme'. The program was awarded the Best Innovation in Vocational Education and Skills Training.

"A study of affordable schools revealed that students normally end up in jobs such as manual labourers, taxi drivers, mechanics, and housemaids," explained by Amit Sinha, Rumi's Head of Operations. "The dominant aspiration of the parent in enrolling his child in such a school is to ensure that the child gets education enough to be better employed than him."
